Teaching and Learning

We are passionate about teaching and learning at Denefield.  We continue to challenge our staff and students to be the best they can be. Denefield is a place where students use their hard work and character values to achieve academic success and develop economic independence, as well as forging positive relationships, supporting their local environment and community, and looking after their own physical and mental health.

We encourage and provide Continuing Professional Development opportunities for teachers at Denefield and have a strong staff development programme throughout the year. We are a leading partner in The Two Counties Teacher Training partnership, providing high quality training to new teachers and those in training.

Our facilities for teaching are second to none, with over £9m spent on science laboratories, art and design workshops, food technology rooms and music teaching and performance spaces. Our floodlit 3G pitch brings state of the art sports facilities to the school and local community.

While at Denefield students are assessed, both formally and informally, and this information is used by teachers to direct their teaching.  Parents receive regular updates about their child's progress,
