Ethos and Values
Our vision is that every student, regardless of ability or circumstance, leaves Denefield with the foundations for a rich and fulfilling life. This is captured in our school motto 'Success for Life'. We believe these five elements support an ethos of a successful life:

Academic excellence    
Developing the academic success and subject knowledge necessary to understand and enjoy the world around them, and to progress to the next stage of education, training or employment.

Economic independence
Becoming economically independent and enjoying a rewarding career or occupation.

Developing strong and positive relationships
During tutor periods, assemblies and extra-curricular opportunities, engaging with students of different ages and adults alike.

Contributing to society and community
Becoming active citizens, respecting and contributing to their community and environment.

Physical and mental health
Maximising their physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing.

Success for Life is underpinned by the curriculum that we teach and the qualifications that students gain, flowing through all of these are the CHARACTER values that are embedded throughout the school. Three of these focus on person attributes - Confidence, Happiness and Articulacy. Three focus onperseverance - Resilience, Ambition and Courage. And the final three focus on contributing to others - Tolerance, Empathy and Respect.
