Welcome from the Chair of Trustees
Welcome to Denefield School.
Whether your family is joining us for the first time or you have been part of our community for many years, I am delighted to welcome you on behalf of the Trust Board.
As Chair of Trustees, I have the privilege of helping to shape the strategic direction of the school, ensuring that every decision we make is guided by one simple ambition: to provide every young person with the very best education and the opportunity to achieve Success for Life.
I also write to you as a parent.
Three years ago, my eldest son joined Denefield as a Year 7 student. Like every parent, I hoped he would settle quickly, make good friends and enjoy school. Watching him grow in confidence and develop into a thoughtful young man has reinforced my belief that Denefield is a very special place. This September, our younger son will begin his own Denefield journey, so our family continues to share the same experiences and aspirations as yours.
What makes Denefield special is not simply the excellent teaching or the high expectations placed upon our students. It is the culture of care, ambition and belonging that runs throughout the school. Staff know their students well and are committed to helping every child flourish academically, socially and personally.
Our vision extends beyond examination results. We want our students to leave Denefield well prepared for whatever path they choose. The CHARACTER values that underpin life at Denefield: Confidence, Happiness, Articulacy, Resilience, Ambition, Courage, Tolerance, Empathy and Respect are the qualities we strive to nurture in every student, every day.
Parents and carers are essential partners in this journey. By encouraging excellent attendance, supporting learning at home and inspiring your children to become fully involved in the rich opportunities that Denefield offers beyond the classroom, you help create the foundations for lifelong success. Whether through sport, music, drama, Duke of Edinburgh, leadership opportunities or one of our many clubs and enrichment activities, these experiences build confidence, friendships and a genuine sense of belonging.
The Trust Board is committed to ensuring that Denefield remains a school where every child is valued, challenged and supported to achieve their potential. We are immensely proud of our dedicated staff, our ambitious students and the strong partnership we enjoy with our families.
