Year 5 tours
Children and their parents/carers are warmly invited to take a tour of our school during the school day.
To help children and their parents/carers decide on their secondary school, most schools arrange an Open Evening during the autumn term and our event will take place early in September with details to be sent closer to the time. However, many parents/carers have told us in the past that they appreciate the opportunity to visit the school in the daytime, when they are able to get a more accurate impression of what it would be like to be part of our school community, by seeing the students and teachers going about their ordinary business.
We have made arrangements for a limited number of visits during the first week of next term for those who want to visit early in the process. Due to exams and transition events for the current Year 6 pupils, we are unable to offer any more than this before the end of this academic year. We do want everyone who is interested in a place at Denefield to have the opportunity to visit us, so if you prefer to wait, or if all our available dates are booked, we will be holding more tours in September 2025.
If you wish to book a tour, please follow the link for your preferred date below:
Please only request one ticket per family (a family is made up of one child and two parents/carers – unless you have more than one child in the same year, eg twins). We regret that the visit is not suitable for small children and some areas on the tour are inaccessible for buggies and wheelchairs. If you require assistance, please contact us in advance, and we will be happy to make arrangements for you.
On the day of your tour please arrive at the school by 8.40am, where you will be directed to the canteen. We will then divide you into groups and assign you a student tour guide. The tour will consist of a walk around the buildings, although some areas will not be accessible due to exams. Visits will end by 9.40am. Please note that there is no parking available on the school site for these tours.
If you are unable to attend on the day, please cancel your booking so we can offer the place to another family. You may be able to book an alternative if there are any spaces. If you are late on the day of the tour, and all tours have left the canteen, we may not be able to continue the visit, and you may need to book an alternative date.
We look forward to seeing you at Denefield.
