Celebrating 50 Years of Denefield

1976-2026

In 2026, Denefield School will proudly celebrate 50 years of learning, growth and excellence. For five decades, our students and staff have shaped a school built on strong character values and a belief in success for life.

To help us mark this special occasion, we want to hear from those who have been part of Denefield’s journey. Whether you or someone you know is a former student, a long-serving member of staff, or a parent with stories to share, we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for memories, photos, videos, stories, achievements etc.

Big or small, every memory will help us tell the story of Denefield. Reach out to us via SAL@denefield.org.uk with your stories.

Let us celebrate Denefield together.

Denefield Events

Silver Duke of Edinburgh's Award Expedition

Our Silver DofE students successfully completed their Expedition in the New Forest from Wednesday 25 June to Friday 27 June. The students walked around 25 miles from Beaulieu across to Brockenhurst, where they camped at Tyle Barn for two nights.

Having already completed their practice back in April around Crowthorne, Bracknell and Ascot, the students were prepared to take on the challenge of the New Forest, which many people state is a tricky area to navigate.  All groups did really well, reading the maps and navigating themselves between checkpoints, which is not easy. The students kept in good spirits with the motto 'Just Push Through It!'.

All students for Bronze and Silver must now complete all sections of their award, including the Volunteering, Skills and Physical sections, ready for our presentation evening being held in October.

Announcements

Race for Life is back at Denefield!

On Wednesday 16 July, students and staff will take to the field once again to raise money for Cancer Research UK. This annual event is a much-loved part of Denefield and reflects the best of our CHARACTER values. Over the past couple of years we have managed to raise more than £40,000 and, with your support, we are hoping to go even further this year.

This year, each house has its own fundraising page and students are required to make a donation of a minimum £2 online in advance for the non-uniform day. Please remember to include your child’s name and tutor group.

Support your house here:

Kentwood: Denefield Race for Life 2025 - Kentwood House

Langley: Denefield Race for Life 2025 - Langley House

Norcot: Denefield Race for Life 2025 - Norcot House

Sulham: Denefield Race for Life 2025 - Sulham House

Let us come together, support this great cause, and make a real difference.

Waterside Centre - Berkshire Youth

We are excited to be hosting two fantastic community events at the Waterside Centre this summer, and we would love to offer local young people the opportunity to showcase their musical talents.

Waterside Centre’s Fourth Birthday Celebration

Saturday 2 August, 10.00am – 4.00pm
Waterside Centre, Newbury

Summer Fest

Saturday 16 August, 12.00pm – 6.00pm
Waterside Centre, Newbury

We are looking for solo or small group musical performers to be part of the celebrations. Due to limited space and equipment, performances must be acoustic or low-tech - we have just one amp and one microphone available. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate large groups or full bands on this occasion. To register interest or for more details, please contact Jessica.kirby@berkshireyouth.co.uk.
