Denefield Student Leadership Team 2025/26

We are delighted and proud to announce Denefield’s new Student Leadership Team for 2025/26.

After a competitive application and interview process, Tirzah Boakye and Mollie Heath have been appointed as our Head Students.

They will be supported by Phoebe Hudson and Michael Lavelle, who will serve as Deputy Head Students.

Our wider student leadership team includes:
Patrick Hamilton, Ellen Handley-Archer, Yuvleen Sandhu, Eve Singleton, Oliver Taylor, and Rosie Thornhill, all of whom will take on key responsibilities as Senior Student Leaders.

The team will begin their work by leading the School Council and developing fundraising plans and many more activities for the year ahead.

Congratulations to all students involved. We are proud of your dedication and leadership.

Club of the week

The club of the week is Mixed Flag Football. The club takes place every Wednesday from 3.00pm to 4.00pm in the Sports Hall, led by Mr S Wheeler.

Flag football is a non-contact version of American football. It has gained global popularity in recent years, especially among young people, thanks to its focus on speed, teamwork and fun.

This club is open to all Year 7 students and the best part is no experience is needed. Whether you are sporty or just looking to try something new, come along and give it a go.

To join the club, students can meet Mr S Wheeler in the Sports Hall on Wednesday after school.

Denefield events

Year 5 School Tours

Over the past week, we have had the pleasure of welcoming Year 5 pupils from a range of local primary schools, along with their parents/carers for morning tours of Denefield.

It has been fantastic to see so many smiling faces exploring our classrooms and getting a feel for what life is like at Denefield. These visits offer a valuable insight into our welcoming community, excellent facilities and supportive learning environment. Thank you to everyone who joined us. We hope to see you again soon.

If you were unable to attend these tours, please remember we will be offering tours for Year 6 pupils and parents/carers in September 2025, following our Open Evening on Wednesday 17 September. We look forward to welcoming you then.

Denefield Trust Board - Parent Trustee Vacancy

The Trust Board has a vacancy for a Parent Trustee. We are seeking a committed, conscientious and enthusiastic parent/carer who has a genuine interest in education to be part of our team.

Official documents and nomination forms have been sent out to parents/carers via email communication. Please note that the deadline for submission of nomination forms is 3.00pm on Friday 13 June 2025.
