It was fantastic to see so many students exploring the opportunities that Denefield has to offer. We hope you found the evening informative and gained a clear understanding of how our Sixth Form supports students in achieving their goals.

Year 11 - Tate Modern Art visit

Our Year 11 students recently visited Tate Modern in London. The trip gave them the chance to explore modern and contemporary art, inspiring new ideas for their own work.

Students enjoyed seeing a wide range of famous artworks, helping them understand different styles and techniques. The visit not only enhanced their knowledge but also encouraged creativity, leaving them excited to apply what they learnt in their coursework.

Year 9 - Ypres History trip

Our Year 9 students recently went on a History trip to Belgium and France to deepen their understanding of World War I. This trip was organised to give students an opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices of the past and to explore important historical sites of World War I.

Over three days, they visited the Passchendaele Museum, Lochnagar Crater, Thiepval Memorial, and Beaumont Hamel-Newfoundland Memorial, among other significant locations. They also attended the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate and toured the Wellington Quarry, gaining valuable insights into trench warfare, remembrance, and the global impact of the war.

This was a meaningful experience that helped students connect with history in a powerful way.

Denefield Christmas Card Competition 2024

Every year, to celebrate the festive spirit in our local community, Denefield students are invited to take part in the Denefield Christmas Card Competition. It can be a 'Season's Greetings' card for those who prefer.

Each card should:

  • be an original design
  • include the school logo
  • include a festive message - it does not have to be a Christmas message.

Each card could:

  • use the house colours
  • embrace the CHARACTER values

The winning cards will be printed and will be delivered to our neighbours in December. All entries must be with the tutors by Friday 6 December.

House points for all entries.

Some of our previous entries were absolutely amazing. Have a look below.
