Denefield Community Football Match and Get Active Non-Uniform Day
As part of our Denefield 50 celebrations, on Friday 13 March, we hosted a staff vs parents/carers football match that brought the school community together for a brilliant evening. Over 150 parents, students and staff turned out to support both teams, creating an amazing atmosphere on the sidelines. After a closely contested match, the Denefield staff team came out on top with a 3–2 victory. Alongside this, our 'Get Active' non-uniform day gave students the chance to come to school in their sportswear while raising money for a great cause.

The football match raised £468, while the non-uniform day raised an impressive £1,506, bringing the combined total from both events to nearly £2,000. All funds raised will go towards enrichment opportunities for our students and our ongoing partnership with Launchpad, a local charity supporting people facing homelessness in our community.
A huge thank you to every parent/carer, student and member of staff who took part, came along to watch or supported in any way. Events like these show just how strong our Denefield community is as we celebrate 50 years of Success for Life.
Sixth Form visit to Go Perform
Recently some of our Year 12 and 13 students visited Go Perform, a specialist sports performance gym. The trip gave students the chance to experience first-hand the concepts they have been learning about in their exam specification.
During the visit, students took part in a number of practical tests, including hypoxic training, gas analysis and the use of an anti-gravity machine. They also had the opportunity to learn about the different career roles within the sports industry and the qualifications needed to pursue them.
It was a valuable experience that brought classroom learning to life and gave students a real insight into the world of sports science and performance. A big thank you to the PE department for organising such a worthwhile trip.
