A Reminder about Bike Security

We would like to remind all the parents/carers to encourage students to lock their bikes securely when bringing them to school. While our site team keeps a close eye on the bike sheds, we cannot take responsibility for any loss or damage to bikes left on the premises.

Please ensure your child brings a suitable lock and secures their bike safely each day. Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep our school site safe for everyone.

Club of the Week

The club of the week is Chess Club. It is open to all students who enjoy a good challenge. It is a great way to improve focus, patience and problem-solving skills while having fun with friends. Whether someone is new to chess or already knows their moves, everyone is welcome.

Chess Club runs every Thursday from 1.00pm to 1.30pm in Main Hall. If any student would like to join, they can meet and discuss with Mr G Mills during that time.

We have many more exciting extra-curricular clubs. Click the button below to see the timetable.

Celebrating 50 Years of Denefield 1976-2026

In 2026, Denefield School will proudly celebrate 50 years of learning, growth and excellence. For five decades, our students and staff have shaped a school built on strong character values and a belief in success for life.

To help us mark this special occasion, we want to hear from those who have been part of Denefield’s journey. Whether you or someone you know is a former student, a long-serving member of staff, or a parent with stories to share, we would love to hear from you.

We are looking for memories, photos, videos, stories, achievements etc.

Big or small, every memory will help us tell the story of Denefield. Reach out to us via SAL@denefield.org.uk with your stories.

Let us celebrate Denefield together.

The Great Denefield Bake Off Challenge

The final of the Great Denefield Bake Off took place this week, marking the end of this exciting interhouse competition. Our eight talented finalists had 90 minutes to bake and decorate a showstopping cake inspired by the theme Denefield 50.

The creativity and effort on display were outstanding. Elodie baked a vanilla and lemon cake, Ruby and Emily both made chocolate and orange creations, Eloise made a chocolate and raspberry cake, Millie chose jam and vanilla, Ruhi made lemon and blueberry, Thea baked classic vanilla, and Lottie created a chocolate and raspberry cake finished with chocolate buttercream.

Cakes were judged on creativity, flavour, texture and how well they captured the theme. After careful tasting and discussion, Millie S. (Year 7, Kentwood) was crowned this year’s Bake Off Champion, with Lottie V. (Year 8, Norcot) in second place, Emily T. (Year 7, Sulham) third, and Eloise W-J. (Year 8, Sulham) fourth.

With Millie winning the final round, Kentwood House claimed the overall Bake Off title for 2025.

Congratulations to all our finalists for their fantastic efforts and to Mrs E Gough for organising such a fun event. This year's bake-off truly marked a wonderful beginning to our Denefield 50 celebrations.
