These would have been impressive results in any year, but are all the more significant given the level of challenge posed by Covid-19. These results have enabled students to progress to their next steps at Denefield Sixth Form, college or apprenticeship.
‘I am absolutely delighted and hugely proud of all of our Year 11 students, who have achieved excellent results during such a difficult time. They have all worked tirelessly during the past three years and deserve every success today and in their future choices. Today is all about destinations and I am excited that our students are able to move into the next stage of their lives with confidence and resilience, given their most recent experiences. It is wonderful to see so many of our students wishing to return to Denefield Sixth Form, I am also thrilled for our students starting exciting new college courses, apprenticeships or training. Congratulations to all in Year 11!’

Congratulations to Denefield students on securing places at top universities and apprenticeships with leading employers. In 2021, over 90% of students received an offer from their first choice university, and every student who applied for university has been offered a place for September. Of those applicants, 44% of students secured places at the prestigious Russell Group universities. Whilst 66% of students will be attending university in September, a further 10% have confirmed apprenticeship places and 19% are going directly into employment. The remaining 5% of Denefield students have either deferred entry to university or are taking a gap year. These would be incredible achievements during any year but are all the more significant given the challenges that Covid-19 have posed for this cohort. Very well done to Year 13 Denefield students!
'I am immensely proud of all of our Year 13 students, who have achieved excellent results during such a challenging time. They have all worked incredibly hard during the past two years and deserve every success. Today is all about destinations, and I am delighted that our students are able to move into the next phases of their lives with confidence. Over 90% of our students receiving an offer from their first choice university is a tremendous achievement, we are also thrilled for our students starting exciting apprenticeships, including at Microsoft! Congratulations to all in Year 13!'
