Although my last blog was only one week ago, I did not want to let the week pass without acknowledging our Year 11 students.
Friday 26 May was their last day together as a cohort and was a time for celebration, as a pivotal moment in their lives was reached. Although many will progress in to Denefield Sixth Form following their results in the summer, some have rightly chosen other routes to pursue, which include apprenticeships, college courses or in some cases other Sixth Form providers.
Regardless of what comes next, I wish each of them the very best in their examinations and hope that when they open their envelopes in August, they can be proud of their achievements and recognise that the hard work was worth it. To every Year 11 student, believe in yourself always, work hard and never give up. I hope that everyone takes the CHARACTER values with them and continues to flourish in life Post 16. My very best wishes to you all.
You get what you work for, not what you wish for
The half term is here and I am sure our Year 11 and Year 13 students will be studying hard for their next examination, but they must take some time out and balance the revision programmes to ensure information is retained.
To the rest of the school community, enjoy the half term and I shall look forward to welcoming students back for the final term of this academic year, one which will see all year groups taking annual assessments balanced with further opportunities to excel outside of the classroom through embracing the values we all share.
