At Denefield School we provide for students with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including:
We ensure that students with special educational needs and disabilities have full access to the curriculum and range of opportunities within school so that they can make good progress and develop the skills needed to become a valued member of the community and make a positive contribution to society. From Year 7, additional help is given in literacy and numeracy to those students who have been identified as needing extra support. This takes place in specialised additional classes, either with teachers or higher level teaching assistants or through withdrawal sessions to enable students to access highly individualised support.
Homework club, staffed by our team of Teaching Assistants, runs daily from Tuesday to Friday, to support students who may require additional help or support to complete extended learning tasks.
