Welcome to Sulham House
As members of the Sulham House we reflect the CHARACTER values of Denefield School, and aim to do our best in lessons, extra-curricular activities and as members of our community. Our house prides itself on our commitment to charity fundraising, and in particular our sporting excellence.
We are named after Sulham Hill, and take the name of our house awards from nearby Sulham Tower, a folly that has stood firm since 1759.
Sulham House is split into 11 tutor groups; one in the Sixth Form and ten vertical groups for Years 7-11, giving them a chance to make friends and mix with students who are up to five years their senior or junior and foster a greater community spirit. This has proved invaluable to the development of all students, both personally and academically, giving them friendship opportunities across normal boundaries.
Our House charities are:
Tutor time schedule:
Monday - Critical Thinking
Tuesday - Discussion
Wednesday - Extended Learning
Thursday - Assembly
Friday – Reading for pleasure
We believe in giving opportunities for leadership and are building on an already strong foundation of student leaders this year. As well as our house council we hope Sulham students will choose to put themselves forward for positions in other councils and groups, such as media or sports.
This year, there are a number of opportunities for students to get involved in student leadership roles across the house and all subject areas, which will give them the opportunity to take the lead in a variety of activities within this thriving community.
