Admission for September 2020
I do hope you and your families are well at this challenging time.
I very much enjoyed meeting so many parents/carers, either at the Year 5 Roadshows last academic year, or more recently at the Year 6 Open Evening. I am delighted that you have now chosen Denefield for your child in September. The information below will give you some further information about how we plan to manage the transition to Denefield in these unusual times.
Normally in the spring term my Transition & Engagement Leader, Mrs J Jackson, would be visiting every primary school and having detailed conversations with all the Year 6 children coming to Denefield. She would be talking to their teachers and then, later on, senior staff at Denefield would have individual conversations with Year 6 parents/carers. In that way, we would build up a complete picture of every child coming to us in September. We would also hold an induction day in June, so that children could get to know the school before the summer holidays.
Clearly, with schools currently closed and social distancing likely to remain for some time, we will have to do things differently this year. Our exact plans will depend on how long, and how severe, the lockdown is, but will include the following elements:
I will, of course, provide you with more information as time goes on. If you or your child have any urgent questions, please do contact Mrs Jackson. Her email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please do stay safe and well. I very much look forward to meeting you again as soon as possible.
Mr E Towill MA (Oxon)
