High Attaining & Talented Students

HATS and Gifted & Talented

We identify high attaining, gifted and talented students across all year groups and in all subjects. These students are targeted to receive increased stretch and challenge across the curriculum, access to great enrichment opportunities and support and guidance to enable them to reach their potential both now and in the future.

A student is identified as high attaining if they achieve above a certain score (currently 110) in their KS2 SATS tests.

Gifted and talented students are identified by their subject teachers in particular curriculum areas. Students that show an academic excellence in a subject are classed as gifted. Those that demonstrate a particular level of skill in a practical or creative subject are talented.

If you have any further questions please feel free to get in contact with Mr Thomas, Standards Leader for High Attaining and Talented Students: CTS@denefield.org.uk
