We offer an increasingly wide range of academic and vocational courses leading to Level 3 qualifications. Students are guided onto appropriate courses depending on prior attainment, ability and future aspirations.
Subjects currently offered include: art & design, biology, business studies, chemistry, computing, drama & theatre studies, English literature, English language & literature, French, geography, German, graphic communication, health & social care, history, information technology, mathematics, media studies, music, philosophy & ethics, photography, physical education, physics, psychology, sociology, textiles and fashion and travel & tourism.
Students receive eight lessons per subject per cycle. They are also required to complete eight hours of extended learning/additional reading per subject per cycle, it is expected that students will use their timetabled study periods to complete this work.
All students in Years 12 and 13 take part in a wide ranging programme of community service. These opportunities provide valuable experience which further develop our CHARACTER values, broaden ambitions and promote leadership, independence and organisation.
Students have briefing once per cycle when external providers give presentations on a wide range of topics including career guidance. In addition to this they take part in CHARACTER and PHSE sessions throughout the year in order to improve a range of skills and a wider awareness of the world.
