Students travelling to school by bus
There has been a further revision of Reading bus services, effective from September 2011, to support our changes to the pattern of the school day. The most current bus timetables are available by clicking on the link below and selecting the appropriate route numbers from the Reading buses website.
In brief:
In the morning, the 991 bus departs at 08:07 from Usk Road, via St Michael’s and Westwood Road, and arrives at Denefield at 08:17.
There are two route 16 buses which depart at 07:41 and 08:00 from Norcot Junction, via the Overdown Road; they arrive on site at 07:51 and 08:10 respectively. Clearly, there could be an issue with capacity on the 08:00 service if the majority of students decide to catch the later of the two buses. Please encourage your child to be at the bus stop in time to catch the 07:41 service so that there is a follow-up bus available at 08:00 if the first is full.
The 915 service departs from Reading West Station, via Dee Road and the Tilehurst Triangle, arriving at Denefield at 08:14.
In the afternoon, all three school buses will depart from the Denefield site at approximately 15:15. Students should not need to leave the school premises to wait for the route 16 bus on Long Lane unless they are staying on site beyond the end of the day for extra-curricular activities.
