What is it and what will I be studying?
In year 10 you will be studying Unit 1 ICT Skills for Business. This unit will include the following skills;

Understand how safe working practices are applied in a business environment.

Using appropriate software, select and use tools and facilities to download files/information and to understand how to use email in a business context.

Design and create a business presentation to accompany a talk, using presentation software.

Design and create business documents using Word processing or DTP software.

Design, create and use a business spreadsheet.

Select and use tools and facilities database software to enter, sort and search for information for business purposes using a realistic business database provided by the centre.
The unit is seperated into different sections, for each section you will need to ensure that you are providing evidence of your work and building this into a portfolio.
You will be assessed as Pass, Merit or Distinction. A pass is equivalent to GCSE grade C, Merit = B and Distinction = A. You will be assessed for each section, which will then be used to calculate your overall grade.
